Driver
POSITION SUMMARY:
To drive a commercial truck and deliver product to customers.  
 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language and communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

  • Full understanding of how to operate and safely drive assigned delivery vehicle in excess of 13 tons hauling large loads.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Drives commercial truck, transporting products and making deliveries.
  • Pulls a towed weight in excess of 5 tons
  • Prepares products for delivery.
  • Ensures loads are properly secured. Loads can include over-sized, over weight and poses unique securement opportunities
  • Loads and unloads trucks as directed.
  • Communicates with dispatch as needed.
  • Maintains and submits records of stops, mileage, hours and delivery activities.
  • Performs pre- and post-delivery vehicle inspections, maintenance, and service (e.g. refueling, oil change, tire pressure check, minor repairs).
  • Complies with all ICC And DOT Regulations.
 
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred; valid PA Driver’s License with valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Current medical certificate required.
  • 2+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving preferred
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to sit and drive for long periods, with frequent periods of standing and walking and occasional periods of bending, twisting, stooping, reaching.
  • Dexterity requirements range from simple to coordinated movements of fingers/hands; feet/legs and arms/torso.
  • Medium work, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects with weights of 50 pounds; may occasionally need to lift heavier product or equipment, with assistance.
  • Must be able to pay close attention to driving requirements and concentrate on roads and conditions.
  • Must demonstrate emotional stability.
  • Works in assigned vehicle with adequate space, lighting, and ventilation and temperatures.

Rigger
POSITION SUMMARY:
Crane operator signal persons are the crane operator’s “eyes and ears on the ground.” Their signals and communications with the operator are crucial in preventing crane accidents and crane operators should never work without a qualified signal person.
 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Know the types of signals used at the work site.
  • Can competently use those signals
  • Know the crane equipment, its limitations and all the dynamics involved in crane and boom movement and lifting
  • Demonstrate their knowledge through oral, written, and practical testing
  • Are evaluated by a third-party or in-house Qualified Evaluator.
  • Identify and attach rigging with knowledge of hitch configurations and load angle factors, rigging capacities, and load integrity
  • Understand load dynamics and associated hazards
  • Estimate load weight and center of gravity
  • Identify lift points
  • Determine and select rigging based on loading
  • Perform pre-use inspection of rigging and lift points
  • Understand periodic inspection criteria
  • Working knowledge of hoisting equipment, winches, jacks, industrial rollers, and similar equipment.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials.
  • Communicate with coworkers to coordinate installations or repairs.
  • Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Test mechanical systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
  • Attach rigging to objects so they can be moved.
  • Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.
  • Determine types of equipment, tools, or materials needed for jobs.
  • Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chainfalls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
  • Operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment.
  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
  • Move materials, equipment, or supplies.
  • Install ground rigging for yarding lines, attaching chokers to logs and to the lines.
  • Align, level, and anchor machinery.
  • Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment, RTU’s or trusses.
  • Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts.
  • Clean equipment, parts, or tools to repair or maintain them in good working order.
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
  • Dismantle heavy equipment or machinery.
 
SPECIFIC EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSING REQUIRED:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Valid PA driver’s license required. 
  • Able to read, understand, and follow safety procedures & policies.
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Required to work outside for extended periods of time, in potentially adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be physically fit, able to perform heavy work, and able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted.

Swamper
POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of the Swamper is to work with trucks and trailers in support of the driver and to provide general labor duties.

  • Knowledge of and ability maintain equipment and follow related procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with load securement.
  • Helps with chaining up the truck as conditions require it
  • Position blocks and tie downs to secure loads.
  • Checks equipment to be loaded for readiness and that all miscellaneous equipment attached to that load is secured for movement.
  • Uses proper and safe loading and unloading procedures
  • Watches closely as load is being lifted onto truck and makes sure it doesn't hang up on tail pins.
  • Keeps truck and equipment clean and organized.
  • Reports equipment safety deficiencies immediately
  • Communicates with the driver and truck pusher and understands what is needed for each job.
  • Assist drivers with pre/post trip inspections.
  • Fosters a positive working relationship with drivers, coordinators, truck pusher, and trucking manager.
  • Make emergency roadside adjustments and repairs
  • Assists the Driver with pre/post trip inspections
  • Maintain and use appropriate PPE
  • Participates in relevant training and safety processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Dispatcher / Driver

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Crane Operator
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Crane Operator is responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. The Operator controls crane functions by depressing buttons and foot pedals as well as manipulating levers. The Operator will be required to unload crane accessories from trailers or support vehicles. The Operator receives direction from riggers or site supervision via verbal or hand signals to determine required load movement.
 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA Regulations and ANSI standards in crane operations.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Operates various types of cranes: All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawlers, Industrial, Hydraulic Trucks, Conventional Trucks, and Boom Trucks.
  • Drives crane to work site and properly sets up per the manufacturer’s operators manual and company rules regarding cribbing/matting. cribbing blocks or mats as required to perform job requirements of customer.
  • Directs activities of riggers, truck drivers or helpers in setting up and knocking down the equipment, placing cribbing blocks and/or pads, moves levers and foot pedals to rotate superstructure, raise and lowers boom to raise and lower cables.
  • May operate crane according to signals from rigger or helper, may bolt, pin boom sections together to modify boom lengths;
  • Perform routine maintenance;
  • Carry tools for running repairs;
  • Wears PPE safety equipment;
  • Properly barricades counterweight tail swing radius;
  • Takes complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown and operation of crane;
  • Understands and can properly fill out job ticket for customer to accept responsibility for jobsite and billing;
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours (FMCSA)
  • Required to perform pre- and post-trip inspections along with daily and monthly equipment inspections.
 
SPECIFIC EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSING REQUIRED:
  • Valid PA Driver’s License with valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required, Class A strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Must possess a current NCCCO or equivalent crane operator certification.
  • Must possess a current PA Crane License.
  • Current medical certificate required.
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Operator typically works under direct supervision and is expected to work long hours with frequent sitting, standing, moving, and climbing. The Operator is subject to possible exposure to extreme year round outdoor environmental conditions, and may also be subject to working weekends and holidays.

Diesel Mechanic Technician
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Diesel Mechanic Technician is responsible for performing mechanical repairs in a timely and professional manner.
 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable to drive, preferred.
  • Complete Level 4 brake training.
  • Complete Level 4 wheel seal training.
  • Ability to attend HVAC, Electrical and DOT training.
  • Ability to get ASE, DOT, TIA and other certifications.
  • Able to furnish own tools to perform work.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays, and as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation and phone.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
  • Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Greet customers in a prompt, friendly manner.
  • Perform PM’s and oil changes.
  • Grease trucks and trailers.
  • Perform tire services.
  • Perform basic electrical repairs.
  • Perform minor repairs.
  • Perform brake services.
  • Perform basic HVAC repairs.
  • Determines when specialized repair services are needed and informs the Shop Manager.
  • Advises the Shop Manager on needs for the appropriate inventory of repair parts, filters and supplies needed to insure that prompt and efficient repairs can be made.
  • Identifies and corrects all safety hazards and calls those hazards to attention of other personnel and
  • management through the Shop Supervisor.
  • Perform CSA/DOT inspections.
  • Perform wheel end/seal services.
  • Perform service calls and night call outs.
  • Keep shop clean and uncluttered at all times.
  • Ensure all service equipment (jacks, tools, trucks) are in good working order, clean, and properly repaired when needed.
  • Make sure all parts, tires, etc., are put away in proper places.
  • Complete work orders by providing the necessary customer information, labor performed, parts used, and any other information for warranty purposes.
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction and the integrity of the company
  • Practice all company safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for employees and customers.
  • Adhere to all Safety Policies.
  • Stay current on all LMS training.
  • Providing friendly and competent customer service.
  • Reporting for work in a timely manner when scheduled.
  • Assisting in other duties, as assigned.
 
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Tire Service Certified by TIA.
  • Air Brake Certification.
  • DOT Medical Card preferred.
  • CDL Class A Certification preferred.
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works outdoors with average to poor exposure of icy roads, dirt, noise, vibrations, and odors, as needed.
  • Works indoors in garage setting, repairing/maintaining vehicles, as needed.
  • Normal exposure to weather conditions such as rain, wind, snow and heat.
  • On call working conditions required when snow removal is necessary, or when other emergencies arise.
  • Some heavy lifting will be required.
